More than Meets the Eye: First Photo Shoot

This is the final black and white picture after I was allowed to doctor the photo up a bit in photoshop. I don't have the painting talent to reproduce those intricate designs on the side of the tea pot so my instructor let me edit them out,(thanks!) I wanted something with a dark shadow in the background, after the cropping I think I captured what I was looking for.

A Picasso I'm not! The bottom picture is how I finally decided to lay out my composition. My first thought was to have it sitting up normal but I thought that was boring so I knocked it over making it a more dynamic piece I think. A tea pot just sitting there would be a very boring and static project.
